TrakOps: Ambesi Pieranne Mankaa’s Mission to Digitize Cameroon’s SMEs

Revolutionizing Business Operations

In Cameroon, where 80% of businesses still rely on paper-based systems, Ambesi Pieranne Mankaa is transforming how SMEs operate with TrakOps, a platform that tracks human resources, projects, and finances. As a finalist for SDG Innovate Cameroon 2025, Pieranne’s resilience turns chaos into clarity for small businesses. TrakOps aligns with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by driving efficiency and growth. Join us to celebrate her vision at the Resilience Recognition & Awards on August 23, 2025, at Hotel Franco in Yaoundé. RSVP to honor innovators like her.

A Vision Born from Chaos

Pieranne launched TrakOps in 2025, inspired by the inefficiencies she saw especially in SMEs, where employers are unable to track profits or employee tasks. With limited funding and spotty internet, building a platform was tough

TrakOps targets 185,000 of Cameroon’s 443,524 businesses with internet access, offering a cloud-based app to manage HR, track projects, and record daily finances. Shop owners gain real-time insights, answering questions like “Are we profitable?” or “What’s my team doing?” This boosts SDG 8’s economic growth goals, while offline capabilities make it accessible in low-connectivity areas, supporting SDG 9’s innovative infrastructure.

Overcoming Digital Barriers

Pieranne’s grit shines in tackling Cameroon’s tech challenges. With 80% of businesses in sub Sahara Africa stuck in analog methods, TrakOps had to be affordable and simple. Limited funds meant leaning on micro-grants and community pilots, but Pieranne is training vendors to build trust. Her hands-on approach silenced skeptics, embodying the spirit of SDG Innovate Cameroon 2025.

A Ripple Effect for Growth

TrakOps is transforming Cameroon’s SME landscape. It empowers shopkeepers, from grocers to tailors, to compete in modern markets, creating jobs for youth in tech support roles. By making business operations efficient, it fosters inclusivity, especially for women-led enterprises. Pieranne’s plan to scale TrakOps nationwide could turn Cameroon into a hub for digital SMEs, showing that local innovation has global potential.
