bring convenience to communities where delivery services were scarce. In places
like Bambili, spotty internet and shaky logistics made this tough.
Cash-strapped and facing a crowded market, Edrick built Asapchop from the
ground up, adding features like AsapPoints for loyalty, referral bonuses, and
secure payments tailored to local needs. Teaming up with Elisha Ghany and
Foryoung Junior Ngu, he pushed past doubts about small-town delivery, earning
his spot as a standout for SDG Innovate Cameroon 2025.
Empowering Local Economies
Asapchop is a lifeline for local economies. Customers can
browse menus, order food, and get it fast, while restaurants see more sales and
riders earn a living. Many of these riders are young folks looking for flexible
gigs, tying directly to SDG 8’s goal of decent work. With tools like vendor
promotions and package delivery, Asapchop builds community-driven solutions,
and its digital backbone supports SDG 9 by creating modern infrastructure
suited to local realities.
Edrick’s tenacity shines through in tackling logistical
chaos. With barely any digital framework to lean on, he made Asapchop easy to
use for everyone involved. He forged ties with local businesses and riders,
building trust and a sense of shared purpose. Scrapping for funding and
tweaking the platform to fit market demands, Edrick’s hustle shows the kind of
drive SDG Innovate Cameroon 2025 celebrates.
A Ripple Effect of Inclusion
Asapchop’s ripple effect is huge. It connects small businesses to new customers, giving them a fighting chance in tough markets. Riders gain steady income, and vendors reach further than ever, making communities more inclusive.
